No durian fruit

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/dd/Singapore_MRT_Fines.jpg/471px-Singapore_MRT_Fines.jpg…because “its odor is best described as pig-shit, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock. It can be smelled from yards away. Despite its great local popularity, the raw fruit is forbidden from some establishments such as hotels, subways and airports, including public transportation in Southeast Asia.”

But apparently it tastes good, much like stinky tofu. Hmm…

    The pungent smelling Durian
fruit has, for most people, a very unpleasant (toiletlike)
aroma when smelled orthonasally(directly through nose) but, for many, a very pleasing flavor when in the mouth and the aroma is detected
retronasally(to nose from mouth).Small and colleagues compared these two distinct pathways of delivering odorants and found different patterns of neural activation depending on whether the aroma
compounds are delivered ortho- or retronasally.
